Cookie Policy

1. What are cookies and local storage?
Cookies and browser "local storage" are small pieces of data saved on your device. Weather Studio uses a very small number of them, and does not use advertising or analytics cookies (our anonymous usage statistics work without storing anything on your device).
2. What we use
Strictly necessary (always on)
- wsid (cookie, until you close the browser) - keeps administrators logged in. Visitors who do not log in to the admin area never receive it.
- ws_consent (local storage, up to 12 months) - remembers your choices from the cookie popup.
Preferences (only if you agree)
- ws_recent, ws_saved - your recent and saved locations.
- ws_units - °C/°F and other unit choices.
- ws_refresh, ws_days, ws_alertsound - your auto-update interval, 7/14-day outlook choice and alert sound on/off choice.
These stay in your browser and are never sent to us.
Third-party content (only if you agree)
- Windy.com wind map - when you open the "Wind & more" map layer, Windy loads in a frame and may set its own cookies or similar technologies. We do not control them; see Windy's privacy policy.
Other map, radar and live-lightning services are contacted without cookies, but they can see your IP address when your browser connects. See the Privacy Policy.
3. Managing your choices
Use Cookie settings at the bottom of any page to change or withdraw your consent at any time. You can also delete cookies and site data in your browser settings. If you decline Preferences, the site still works but will not remember your saved places or settings between visits.
